For Halloween we made crazy cat masks. We asked ourselves … what’s our spirit animals? Grabbing pencils and markers we designed the masks … After that grabbing the paintbrushes we started painting the masks adding fur and details. Putting them on and prancing around. Miuuiiiiuuuaaaaaw !
One of my favourite ones so far, making underwater worlds out of clay and painting them. So much dry in feeling the clay, seeing how it can be transformed into little creatures. Oysters and pearls. Crabs, starfishes and octopuses! Mermaids and Merman’s chilling. BLUB, BLUB….BLUB.
This afternoon a small group joined, aged 6 and 8. They learned about Van Gogh, his style, and we focused on learning more about the primary colours and mixing them. First focusing on the background and then the flowers… The striped tablecloth also left a strong impression and the kids freely started to recreate it. Stripes alongside interpretations of Van Gogh’s “Flowers” – it was, all in all, a great, vibrant afternoon.
To kick off Fall we had a cozy afternoon learning about dreamcatchers. Where do they come from? Learning about the history there of by story telling. Sharing dreams and listening to one another. Where would we fly to in our dreams if we could? Working with wool, fabrics, ribbons and beads every one created their very own … At the end a show and tell followed by a Disco and Dreamcatcher – Dance. Way too much fun !
